About Christine

Administrative Law Judge Christine Hansen is the most highly-qualified candidate for Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District II in the April 7, 2026, election. She currently presides over probation, parole, and extended supervision revocations and, when warranted, orders violators imprisoned. She is also active in her community and currently serves as President of the Waukesha County Bar Association.

Christine was raised on a dairy farm in northwestern Wisconsin, and thereafter put herself through law school as a single mother. After law school, she settled in Waukesha County and built a successful career as an attorney, primarily in public service. Christine earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, where she graduated with honors, and her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School where she was an editor on Law Review.

Christine’s career has been spent as a local prosecutor, public defender, and guardian ad litem for children, before taking her current position with the State of Wisconsin as an administrative law judge hearing corrections cases.

Administrative Law Judge Hansen is an independent, and is not affiliated with either political party. She believes judges should be independent, impartial, and non-partisan. She looks to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman who ever served on the high court, as an inspiration.

In the community, Christine coached high school girls basketball for more than a decade, volunteers as a board member with The FOOD Pantry Serving Waukesha County, has served on multiple mental health boards including NAMI Southeast Wisconsin, and volunteers with Soles for Jesus, Inc., which provides shoes to those in need in Africa.
